We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Family Assistant to combine hands-on housekeeping, childcare support, and house management responsibilities. The role requires someone flexible, discreet and confident managing a household with multiple staff members, while also providing practical support to the principals and their children.
Key Responsibilities:
Housekeeping & Household Organisation:
- Ensure the home is organised and presented to a high standard at all times.
- Wardrobe management for two principals, including seasonal organisation, packing, and unpacking.
- Manage household stock and purchasing of cleaning and housekeeping supplies.
- Coordinate and oversee deep cleans during family absences.
- Liaise with external contractors
Childcare Support:
- School runs.
- Saturday childcare.
- Occasional homework support when the nanny is unavailable.
- Liaison with schools and attendance at appointments.
- Transport children to activities and events, both locally and further afield.
House Management Duties:
- Assist chef with dinner parties (6+ guests), including table set-up.
- Oversee family purchasing and returns.
- Manage household post and deliveries.
- Recruitment and training of new household staff.
- Manage staff schedules and rotas, including annual leave tracking and requests.
- Support with family bookings.
- Maintain household diaries and share relevant information with staff.
- Oversee upkeep of the family’s other UK property, liaising with the Property Manager and other staff.
- Travel to other UK property approx. 3–4 times per year to set up and close down the property ahead of family visits.
Additional Duties:
- Undertake ad hoc requests as required.
- Flexibility to align holidays with the family’s travel schedule.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in a private household in a combined family assistant/house management role.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident managing household staff and liaising with external contractors.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to anticipate family needs.
- Comfortable working closely with principals while maintaining discretion and professionalism.
- Must hold a full driving licence
