We are seeking an experienced Deckhand to join a 50m+ private yacht cruising the U.S. East Coast, with a home base in West Palm Beach. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow their deck career within a tight-knit team on a relaxed programme with excellent owners. The right candidate will be energetic, proactive, and eager to learn, with at least one season’s experience on similar-sized vessels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with all exterior maintenance, including wash downs, polishing, teak care, varnishing and extensive paint jobs
- Tender driving
- Bridge lookout and mooring operations
- Supporting senior deck crew with ongoing projects and guest activities
- Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards on deck
- Guest interaction
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 season experience as a Deckhand on 40m+ yachts
- Confident tender driver
- STCW and ENG1 (valid for at least the next 12 months)
- Powerboat Level 2
- Yachtmaster preferred
- Engineering skills is a bonus
- B1/B2 visa in hand (or the legal right to work in the U.S.)
- A strong work ethic with a can-do, team-first attitude
- Energetic, motivated, and enthusiastic about progressing in the deck department
- Ability to integrate well into an established crew dynamic
