Chief Engineer

Reiya Group is currently seeking a Chief Engineer to join a 70m dual-season charter motor yacht. This commercially registered vessel runs a busy, well-established charter program and is managed to the highest standards by an experienced team.

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished Chief Engineer with a solid background in both yachting and commercial maritime operations. This role demands technical expertise, strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the safe and efficient operation of all onboard engineering systems
  • Implement and maintain the vessel’s planned maintenance system (PMS)
  • Ensure compliance with all flag, class and ISM/ISPS requirements
  • Manage engineering budgets, spares and technical inventories
  • Supervise and mentor the engineering team, fostering a professional and collaborative environment
  • Liaise closely with the captain, management company and shipyard during refits or maintenance periods
  • Troubleshoot technical issues efficiently to minimise downtime and maintain optimal vessel performance

Requirements:

  • Chief Engineer 3000kw certificate (minimum)
  • Commercially registered
  • Proven experience as Chief Engineer aboard large yachts (60m+)
  • Strong engineering knowledge with a focus on preventative maintenance and reliability
  • Professional, detail-oriented and adaptable to a dynamic charter schedule
  • Valid B1/B2 visa
