Reiya Group is currently seeking a Chief Engineer to join a 70m dual-season charter motor yacht. This commercially registered vessel runs a busy, well-established charter program and is managed to the highest standards by an experienced team.
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished Chief Engineer with a solid background in both yachting and commercial maritime operations. This role demands technical expertise, strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the safe and efficient operation of all onboard engineering systems
- Implement and maintain the vessel’s planned maintenance system (PMS)
- Ensure compliance with all flag, class and ISM/ISPS requirements
- Manage engineering budgets, spares and technical inventories
- Supervise and mentor the engineering team, fostering a professional and collaborative environment
- Liaise closely with the captain, management company and shipyard during refits or maintenance periods
- Troubleshoot technical issues efficiently to minimise downtime and maintain optimal vessel performance
Requirements:
- Chief Engineer 3000kw certificate (minimum)
- Commercially registered
- Proven experience as Chief Engineer aboard large yachts (60m+)
- Strong engineering knowledge with a focus on preventative maintenance and reliability
- Professional, detail-oriented and adaptable to a dynamic charter schedule
- Valid B1/B2 visa
